AFDC implements a field study on domestic violence in Eastern Amman. The first stage of this study studies (1300) cases in order to examine the types of violence that Jordanian women face, as well as the types of batterers and their motives.
When the field study is concluded, AFDC will issue a report about the reality of violence against women in Eastern Amman, the dwellers of which are usually economically disadvantaged.
AFDC has trained (20) female researchers on methodologies of field research, and dealing with battered women. This project is implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM).
