AFDC organized a workshop on CEDAW stories

In cooperation with the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), AFDC organized a workshop for community-based organizations in Amman, on writing CEDAW stories, and methods of preparing statistical questionnaires related to the field of development.

The concept of CEDAW stories is related to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The concept is based on daily life stories written by women narrating the abuses they experience, according to the convention’s definitions of women’s rights violations.
The workshop has been conducted throughout five days; also tackled mechanisms of data collection, preparing questionnaires, and interviewing battered women. (20) participants attended this workshop. Mr. Obaida Fares, AFDC director, and lawyer Roman Haddad, director of Media Voice Studies Center undertook the training.
