Tunisian Youth trained on responsible citizenship

As a continuation of its training activities on responsible citizenship, the Arab Foundation for Development & Citizenship (AFDC) has carried out two workshops in February 2010 in Tunisia, on the concept of "Responsible Citizenship". The workshop was attended by 55 young Tunisian men and woman. AFDC has previously trained 40 young Tunisian men and women in December 2009.

These workshops come as part of AFDC’s training program on "Responsible Citizenship" which has been prepared by ICTIDAR of the UN Development Program. The training program aims to link the rights and responsibilities in order to create responsible Arab citizens.

Participants of the workshops which have been carried out on 3 days have been trained on the concepts of social rights, economical rights, women’s rights, and environmental rights by carrying out exercises and activities. Participants have also prepared a number of visions that can be implemented by youth and contribute towards the concepts that they have been trained on.

Mr Ilyes Zine, AFDC’s coordinator in Tunisia, said that these workshops that have been carried out by the AFDC in Tunisia are distinct in the training they present to participants by getting them actively involved during the training as well as requesting their legal understanding in a simplistic concept as well as adopting multimedia as the main median for presentations.

The training was carried out by Mr. Ilyes Zine, and Mr. Mohamed Ennose, who is a youth activist in Morocco.
